CED established its Regional Centre at Hyderabad recently which is expected to accelerate its activities in the Andhra Pradesh and nearby states. The Regional Centre initially focuses on Geo-informatics related research, consultancy and training programs. CED is also involved in the Inventorisation and Characterisation of Hazardous Wastes in Andhra Pradesh and also involved in the Preparation of Detailed Project Report for Water Supply and Sewerage.

CED is involved in the preparation of GIS Base Maps  in 37 ULBs of Andhra Pradesh. CED has also completed the project – Mainstreaming Biodiversity in to Production Sectors in East Godavari Region of Andhra Pradesh.

The Regional Centre has state of the art facilities in GIS and Image Processing with latest ARC-INFO and Erdas Imagine software.

The centre also  offers managerial and career courses in GIS and Remote Sensing for national as well as international candidates.
